Recognize sensitive data

Contact details, identifiers, financial records, health information, location, credentials, and private communications can cause harm if misused. Several ordinary details combined can become highly identifying.

Use permission thoughtfully

App permissions should match an app’s purpose. A flashlight does not need contacts; a photo editor may need selected photos but not permanent access to the entire library.

  • Choose approximate location when possible
  • Remove permissions from unused apps
  • Delete old sensitive downloads
